A Brief historyThe Parish Church foundation stone was laid in 1958 shortly after the opening of the school. There had been a history of Catholics in the Wolstanton area since the 1880s with a variety of meeting houses used before the funds were raised for the Church. Shortly after the Churches completion a Lady Chapel was built and a pipe organ was installed. The Church was formerly consecrated by Bishop Cleary in 1969. The Church has been ably led by a number of wonderful priests, their names are listed below. The Parish also has a rich history of groups which enable parishioners to be involved in their parish and support local and global issues. The RCIA course has been running since 1985 and the CAFOD and Womens League have been operating since 1987. The Choir was reestablished in 1994 and has since been led by Dave West, they continue to deliver excellent music and the new organ only enhanced this. In 2004 the parishes of Wolstanton, Chesterton and Knutton were amalgamated and the parishes have worked closely ever since. The Parish is welcoming and friendly place.
